The Duxbury Art Association features art exhibitions in the Lillian & Ture Bengtz gallery on the first floor and the Bobbie Cutler gallery on the second floor of the Ellison Center for the Arts. We schedule shows throughout year that explore a wide variety of themes and mediums.  Our exhibition registration is open to all artists with the one exception of our Midsummer Art show, which is the annual Duxbury Art Association member show held during the summer.

Call For Art!!

Seeing Music Gallery Show 2019

Call Description:

Do you paint with music playing? Are you inspired by musical instruments? Do song lyrics inspire you? Show us how music moves you. To celebrate the South Shore Conservatory’s 2019 Duxbury Music Festival, we invite artists to fill the Ellison Center for the Arts with artwork of or inspired by music.

The show will hang in the Bengtz and Cutler Galleries at The Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street, Duxbury, MA from June 6- August 23, 2019.

Membership is not required.

Accepted works: We will make every effort to hang all submissions. This is not a juried show. Unless you hear differently expect that your pieces are accepted and need to be delivered. Each piece should be no larger than 30” on any side unless you have prior permission. All pieces must hang on the wall. We do not have provisions for free-standing sculptures for this exhibit.

Artists may enter up to 3 pieces in one entry. The registration fee is $10 for the each piece. Entry fees are non-refundable. Please email if you have any questions.

What is my fee used for?
Duxbury Art Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and publicly-funded charitable organization operated by artists and art appreciators, for artists, with no reserve or endowment. All proceeds from entry fees fund project-related expenses. Not unlike paying a fee to enter a marathon race, this democratically enables our organization's projects to happen. For over a century Duxbury Art Association has earned a reputation for producing quality exhibits, and benefitting the artists involved, and the public, on its meager budget. Our board of trustees and small dedicated staff of volunteers work hard to make involvement with DAA projects well worth the effort and cost to do so.

Simply by participating in a DAA project or becoming a member you are helping this grass-roots organization do its work and achieve its mission.

Membership is available at:

We invite all artists join us for our first ‘Pairs, Triads and Collections’ Show (PTC) in the Bengtz and Cutler Galleries at The Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street, Duxbury, MA.

Artwork is to be presented as a cohesive collection with a collective minimum of two works and a maximum of six. As space is limited, submissions will be juried for eligibility.

The Pairs, Triads, and Collections Show will run from Mid November 2018 through Mid-February 2019 with a small evening reception on December 1, 2018. There will be plenty of Holiday Shopping traffic, so sales should be brisk.

Mandy Fariello and Jenny Kelley

Mandy Fariello’s art encompasses bright colors, textures, and layers to be excavated. After many years of concentrating on collage and mailart, she has recently shifted her focus to mixed media abstract painting. She is a juried artist in The Russell Gallery in Plymouth and has won numerous local awards. Mandy has Duxbury ties reaching back to the 1600’s and has been living in town for the past 26 years.

Jenny Kelley received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2005. She specializes in floral still life and is passionate about painting from life observation. An award-winning artist, Jenny is a member of the Copley Society of Art, a Signature Member of American Women Artists, and a very proud member of the Duxbury Art Association. Jenny moved to Duxbury with her husband in 2015.

Both are artists who volunteer their time and energy to the inner workings of Duxbury Art Association.
