WINTER JURIED SHOW 2016 PROSPECTUS
Entry is open to all artists. Duxbury Art Association (DAA) membership is not required.

Work must be original, completed within the last five years, and not previously exhibited in any DAA show. All work must be properly framed or gallery wrapped (no clip-on frames or saw tooth hooks) and ready for hanging with a wire. No wet paint, please!
Size: The only size limitation is that all work must be able to fit into a standard elevator. Artists should plan on delivering/carrying work themselves or bring helpers. Extra volunteers may not be on hand to help with transportation.
Paperwork: All paperwork is available at registration. We do not have registration forms and results post cards available online to be filled out beforehand. Please plan your schedule accordingly.
Wires: We’ll remind again: All work must be properly framed or gallery wrapped (no clip-on frames or saw tooth hooks) and ready for hanging with a wire.
Sculpture: Sculpture must be accompanied by a gallery worthy pedestal to ensure that the Juror can view submitted work at the appropriate height. Should the work be accepted, curators may substitute pedestal at the Art Complex Gallery.
NEW – MORE PRIZE MONEY to be awarded!
Prize money will be awarded as follows: one $750 for Best in Show and $200 for first place in each of the eight categories. Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category. If there are not sufficient entries in a specific category, prizes will not be awarded in that area. The Award Ceremony will take place at 7:30pm on Saturday, February 6, 2016. All accepted artists are given one(1) ticket for them to attend the Benefit Opening Reception.

Artists will be notified of acceptance status by self-addressed postcard completed at registration. Jurying will take place on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Results postcards will be mailed on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.

NEW PRICING structure for registration fees:
Current 2015/2016 DAA Members: $15 for up to three (3) entries; $20 for four, (4), entries; $25 for five, (5), entries; etc.
Non-Members: $25 for up to three (3) entries; $35 for four, (4), entries; $45 for five, (5), entries; etc.
Membership may be renewed at registration. (DAA Membership year runs from June 1 to May 31. Senior, over 65 & Student, under 21; membership fee is $25; Individual membership fee is $35, Family covers all residents at one address membership fee is $50.)
Artists may enter as many pieces as he/she wishes; however, only one piece per artist will be accepted into the show.
The DAA retains a 40% commission on all work sold. Work need not be for sale.

ARTWORK PICK- UP
Artwork not selected for the show must be picked up as follows:
Sculpture/3D: Sunday, January 17, 10am – 1pm at the Ellison Center for the Arts. If someone other than the artist will be picking up the artwork, a written permission slip from the artist is required.
Fine Art: Friday, January 22, 10am – 4pm at the Ellison Center for the Arts, and Saturday, January 23, 10am – 12 pm at the Ellison Center for the Arts. After January 25, a storage fee of $5 per piece, per day will be charged for all artwork. Artwork left over 30 days will become the property of the Duxbury Art Association. If someone other than the artist will be picking up the artwork, a written permission slip from the artist is required.
NEW Ellison Center Gallery show! Second Chances. All artists with work NOT ACCEPTED in the WJS are invited to submit one work into this new Gallery show.
No fee, one work per artist, no work from any artists who’s work was accepted. Up to 60 entries.
Scheduled gallery reception: Thursday, February 25 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. All are invited. Refreshments will be served.
WJS SHOW DATES:
Sunday, February 7 – Sunday, April 24, 2016. Under no circumstances may artwork be removed from the show before the close of the show in April 24, 2016.
Everyone is invited to attend this festive evening featuring gourmet hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and music. Accepted artists will be given one (1) complimentary ticket for their own use, held at the door. Additional guest tickets may be purchased in advance for $35.00 at the DAA office or thru eventbrite beginning in January until midnight Feb 5th. Tickets will also be available at the door for $40.00. MasterCard & Visa accepted.
The DAA’s trained volunteers will handle all artwork with due care; however, we cannot be responsible for loss or damage. The DAA will not be responsible for work not removed at the times indicated. We allow photography of the exhibition. Entry at registration indicates acceptance of all of the above conditions. The DAA may require artists to move/transport their artwork to ensure proper handling.
