Calling All Artists and Wanna Be Artists!!!

This evening is open to adults and is free of charge.  All levels are encouraged to come.  We will supply the 10 x 10 board and will have limited paint supplies available.  Please bring your own paint if you can.   For the DAA's 100th Anniversary, we will be creating a centennial exhibition, the theme is "All Around Town" and with your donated 10 x 10 you can be a part of history.  Your 10 x 10 masterpiece will be auctioned to raise money for the DAA and our community programs. Dianne will begin with an informative demonstration to help students see how to begin and finish a painting in one session with easy to understand instructions. Dianne will work with you on an individual basis to help you improve at your own speed. There will be many set ups so there will be no crowding if we paint indoors. We will try to spend every class outdoors if the weather is good so dress for all weather.You will need a french easel, no table easels, bug spray, sunscreen and water. This group will utilize the discipline of Academic Traditional Methods with the freedom of "Alla Prima" to help each person learn the fundamentals to create a painting that is structurally sound in color, composition and technique.  Whether you are a beginner or advance artist you will benefit from this group.

Oil Paint: Rembrandt paint - Cadmium Red Medium, Cadmium Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow Deep, Yellow Ochre, Viridian Green, Cerulean Blue, Ultramarine Blue and Titanium White, Winsor Newton Artist Series - Alizarin Crimson

Brushes, canvas, easel, paper towels, odorless turpentine and a mirror and anything else you may need to paint.
Diane recommends Rembrandt paint or Winsor Newton ARTISTS SERIES (whichever is cheaper) and does NOT recommend WINTON. Please do not wait to buy at Micheal's as it does not always have everything and it costs more. Diane recommends or, Please plan on a week for shipping.

This popular watercolor class is suitable for the seasoned beginner as well as the advanced student. There will be plenty of encouragement given in a relaxed atmosphere. Each class includes demonstrations and critiques. Sessions will focus on painting from still life and photographs, emphasizing techniques.

If you have woven baskets before, this class is for you! Pamela and her sister Patty Campbell have been teaching this class for the DAA for 10 years. Many students have asked to come back and make another basket.  This class will offer making a summer tote with leather handles and your initials to embellish the purse! Of course you can make something else and the class fee will be adjusted accordingly. These will be heirlooms for your family and cherished. Class is limited to 5 students.
